Work with Others
Work with Others
Work with OTHERS is a free communal playwriting event, which will take place on Zoom the first weekend of each month. For more details about times, please see below.
What is it? The first two hours of each session will be spent writing in community over Zoom. Participants can come and go as they please. If you cannot be present for the entire session, you are welcome to arrive late or leave early. Writing can be an isolating endeavor. Work with OTHERS is an opportunity to set aside time each month to write alongside members of the Theatre of Others community worldwide.
The third and final hour of each session will be devoted to a group discussion about the art and practice of playwriting. Resident Playwright and Dramaturg Steven Gaultney will moderate the discussion, featuring a rotating cast of additional Theatre of Others company members. Any questions about the craft of playwriting are welcome and can be asked of Steven, other TOO company members, or put to the group as a whole.
Join us! And be an Other, too.

Satsang
Satsang
Satsang is a communal event that combines spiritual practice into your training and unveils the profound, spiritual depths of acting, which will take place on Zoom on the third weekend of each month. For more details about times, please see below.
What is it? In the ever-evolving world of theatre, the ancient practice of Satsang offers a profound method for actors to deepen their craft and enhance their on-stage presence. Satsang, a Sanskrit term meaning "gathering in truth," is a practice rooted in mindfulness, communal introspection, and the pursuit of spiritual wisdom. This immersive workshop will explore how the principles of Satsang can help actors cultivate a heightened sense of self-awareness, emotional authenticity, and ensemble synergy. Through guided meditation, focused breathing exercises, and reflective group discussions, participants will tap into their inner truth and learn to channel it into their performances. Join us to discover how integrating Satsang into your acting toolkit can lead to more truthful portrayals, a deeper connection with your fellow actors, and a more resonant experience for your audience.
Co-Artistic Director Budi Miller will lead the Satsang, which will also feature a rotating cast of additional Theatre of Others company members. All questions about the craft of theatre, spirituality, and presence are welcome and can be asked of Budi, or put to the group as a whole.

What happens to those stories when they have the pleasure of meeting you? Through twelve weeks of writing assignments and exercises, you'll practice the discipline adaptation by communing with various stories from the past and exploring the resonance between ancient truths and your own unique voice.
